Eleven communities —families, friends, and neighborhoods— are facing the threat of disappearing. Hurricanes, earthquakes, and economic crises have trapped them in an unending cycle of storms. In the face of adversity, they have come to understand that no one is coming to save them; their only hope for survival lies within themselves.
